About Us

Founded in 1962, the Cotswold Savoyards has been entertaining audiences across Gloucestershire for over 60 years. Originally established to perform the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, we have proudly staged all 13 surviving Savoy operas, a reconstruction of Thespis, and operettas by composers including Sullivan, Lehár, Offenbach and Strauss.

We stage two fully produced shows every year, each running for one week. One is performed at Cheltenham’s intimate Playhouse Theatre, while the other takes place at the town’s professional Everyman Theatre, giving us the opportunity to perform in two very different and much-loved venues.

As well as our main productions, we’re proud to support charities and community organisations through concerts and special performances. Whether it’s a small cabaret or a full evening of entertainment featuring our chorus, we’re always happy to discuss opportunities. Previous performances have included a staged production of Trial by Jury at Gloucester Crown Court and a Sullivan Centenary Concert at Cheltenham Town Hall.
